The ESMx multi-sensor logging platform builds on 25+ years’ experience of providing robust, low power, flexible data logging solutions.

Cefas Technology recognise the need to monitor a range of oceanographic parameters from a single platform, with (optional) anti-biofouling features enabling long-term deployment on e.g. buoys, profilers and gliders.

Easy-to-use, user-programmable deployment options and flexible sensor integration is at the forefront of the system design. Intelligent sensor pods have been developed to provide a suite of high quality, recognised oceanographic sensors whilst enabling flexible plug-and-play connectivity. In addition, this concept permits later integration of other sensors which may use non-standard interface protocols.

Data can be logged in a high frequency ‘burst’ mode, which is particularly important for highly variable natural phenomena. Real-time analysis of the data is possible by transmitting average values via an optional Iridium communications module. The full source data can also be logged to enable post-deployment analysis, should it be required.
